If i subract my top exponent from the bottom exponent and i get 0 then would your answer be the same just not in scientific notation?

If i subract my top exponent from the bottom exponent and i get 0 then would your answer be the same just not in scientific notation? this is what I'm doing: 2.9979*10^8/1.079*10^8
If the exponentials are same, then they will cancel it, & you have to do some simple math, just divide 2.9979/1.079 = 2.778You will get your answer as 2.778 hereHope this helps! ...
