Peter is five times as old as Kristin. In two year's time, Peter will be three times as old as Kristin. How old are they now? (How do you get the answer?)
Lets put Peters age as P and Kristens age as K so the equation would be 5K=P and the other equation is 3K= P. So lets say K= 2 then for equation one the answer would be P=10. Then 2 years later equation two comes in  K= 4 so P=12.  So Peter is 10 right now and Kristin is 2, so in two years Kristin will be 4 and Peter will be 12 and 12/4 is three so Peter will be 3 times Kristins age.  ...
